LAETA researcher wins award from Permanent Way Institution
News & EventsLAETA researcher João Pombo won the BARBRO Star of the Year award for 2023, due to his professional experience and research. The distinction is awarded by the Permanent Way Institution, a British professional railway engineering association created in 1884.
Nominees for the award are assessed against four criteria: outstanding personal development and progress within the industry; leadership; contribution to industry events; and demonstration of social contribution, promoting the benefits of working within the rail infrastructure sector.
The annual BARBRO Star of the Year award recognizes a professional who has shown outstanding personal development and was created in memory of Alison Stansfield, a longstanding Permanent Way Institution member.
