Researcher Maria da Graça Carvalho was elected the best MEP in the category of Future of the EU and Innovation

Maria da Graça Carvalho, a researcher from LAETA and MEP, was recently elected the best MEP in the category of Future of the EU and Innovation, in the MEP Awards, awarded by Parliament Magazine.

The former Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education, a member of the PSD delegation to the European Parliament, repeats an award that had already been awarded to her in 2011, but in the category of Scientific Research and Innovation, becoming one of the rare cases of deputies to the European Parliament, who have won this award in different legislatures and categories.

The MEP Awards distinguish the best MEPs in twelve different categories, covering Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Safety, Consumer Rights, Diversity and Inclusion, Digital Strategy and Single Market, Economy, Taxation and Budgets, Energy, Science and Research, Environment and Climate, Health and Welfare, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Justice and Human Rights, Security and Defense, Future of the EU and Innovation.

Maria da Graça Carvalho, Mechanical Engineer, is a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Order of Engineers, a Professional Association of which she was also National Vice-President.
