Evaluation of R&D Units: LAETA receives the highest rating

LAETA - Associate Laboratory of Energy, Transports and Aerospace, coordinated by INEGI, received the highest rating in the latest evaluation carried out by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) within the framework of the 2023/2024 Multiannual Program of Support for R&D Units. This is the second time that the laboratory has received the "Excellent" rating.

The Research Unit is expected to receive a total amount of 7.35 million euros, which will be distributed among the four managing institutions: INEGI, IDMEC, ADAI and AEROG. The financial support includes funds for core funding, programmatic funding, and investment in equipment.

The most recent evaluation of the FCT was based on the scientific and technological activities carried out between 2018 and 2023, as well as the analysis of the strategy and activity plan for the period 2025 to 2029.

In this evaluation cycle, in which more than 315 international experts participated, 336 R&D units from all over the country applied. Units rated "Excellent", such as LAETA, or "Very Good" received a total approved funding of €609.8 million for the period 2025 to 2029.
